Firehouse 50
On August 5, three Flambeau Freewheelers journeyed to Grandview, Wisconsin to participate in the Firehouse 50. Kyle Schmidt, George Blennert and Mark Wenzel took part in the 27th running of the Firehouse 50.
George was the top finisher coming in 173 overall, 168 in his division, and 11 in his age group in a time of 2:12:39.7. Mark came in 220 overall, 212 in his division, and 25 in his age group in a time of 2:20:19.7. Unfortunately Kyle got swept up in a crash 2 miles from the finish. He no doubt would have been the top finisher for the club. Kyle ended up at the hospital for a shoulder injury. He did not have to stay. We wish Kyle a speedy recovery.
