FLAMBEAU FREEWHEELERS BICYCLE CLUB

RIDE REPORT

6-7 & 6-14

Wednesday, June 7 Rib Lake. This night’s ride once again saw the Club tackle the challenging hills of County Highway C. Riders in attendance were Mark Temme, Mindy, Tom, Katrina, Bryan, George, Shayne, Vicki, Mark Peterson, Megan, Scott, Nancy, Todd, Julie, John, Mark Wenzel, and Wally.

Some of the group elected to take a route other than the treacherous Highway C route. The group pretty well stayed together until infamous Cemetery Hill. It was there that things split apart. Mark Peterson, and Vicki were off of the front after the hill. Scott, George, and Bryan were close behind. The lead riders regrouped and it was shortly after that where Bryan would drop his chain and be left behind. Bryan would later catch up with Shayne and the Harris-Harris tandem. The threesome mounted a fearsome chase to try to catch the lead group which Bryan and Shayne would do at the corner of Highway 102 and C. From there the usual green Rib Lake sign sprint ensued into Rib Lake.

The Club ended up at the Frosted Mug where a balky pizza oven kept the Club there for well into the evening.

Wednesday, June 14 Phillips. This night’s ride was interval sprint night with a combination of sign and bridge sprints punctuated by a recovery pace. Riders in attendance that night were Vicki, Kyle, Mark Wenzel, Wally, Mark Peterson, Megan, Scott, Nancy, John, Bryan, and Tom. There is not much to say other than we road fast and then we recovered.

The post ride festivities were hosted by Shayne and Vicki Roberts. Vicki made her popular popcorn.
