Green Cross, present in Christian countries. Green Cross flag as found in the Bavarian Soviet Republic. Green Crescent, present in Muslim countries. Green Lion, present in Persia. Green Menorah, present in Judea. Green Star, formerly present in the Confederation of Soviet Danubian States. Being a communist country, the star was chosen to replace the other, religious symbols as one that is most non-religious, thus at once representing atheists (which was officially the state religious policy), yet not excluding any religious group outright.
