Cocktail Party at Simon's 2001Yes, we had a fabulous night of cocktails, followed by sleeping over and waking up in the morning ( oh my head ). The mood of the evening was suitably enhanced by the afternoon thrashing of Auckland by our legendary Ranfurly Shield heroes. Another legend, Banana Bert, smartened the occasion when he turned up adorned by a stylish dark suit, which was somewhat at odds with the sight of Fay slopping drinks all over the show whilst she and Jonny boogied on the 'dance floor'. Fay was heard to demand a screaming orgasm but she later claimed she meant a cocktail. The master of ceremonies, our very own Tom Cruise aka Lionel, was the consummate professional, smoothly brandishing state of the art mixing gear and fancy glasses to dish up a mouth watering array of colourful concoctions. They ranged from an initial rather dubious Marguerita [ TEQUILA! ] to yummy dessert-like amalgamations of hard liquor, liqueurs, icecream, more hard liquor, coconut cream, syrups, more hard liquor, milk, bananas, chocolate, more hard liquor and god knows what else, interspersed with sour shots to wipe the sticky smiles off our faces and cleanse the palate. Jonny took advantage of numerous sneaky photo opportunities and the protagonists will be shamed by appearances on these pages in due course. Rumour has it that another such event is planned before the end of the year so watch this space. True testament to the satisfactoriness of the evening was the ultra sticky state of Simon's kitchen floor on Sunday. |
