This is a page about my favourite film composer. Danny Elfman has scored the music for dozens of movies, beginning with Pee-wee's Big Adventure in 1985. He is self-taught, and was also the lead singer of the cult rock band Oingo Boingo.
Elfman has worked with many acclaimed filmmakers, such as Brian DePalma (Mission: Impossible), Sam Raimi (Darkman), and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black). However, his best work has been with director Tim Burton. Elfman has composed the music for all but one of Burton's films, including such classics as Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow. He also composed the songs and provided the singing voice for the character Jack Skellington in Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Elfman has worked in television as well, composing the theme music for shows such as The Simpsons and Dilbert.

Elfman is still much in demand, and is currently working on the score for Burton's Big Fish, among other projects. Below are some links to other sites where you can learn more about Elfman's work.

| This site offers an interesting viewpoint, as the author is mainly a fan of Elfman's earlier work, and doesn't rate his later scores as highly. The page has a full list of Elfman's credits, many of them linked to reviews of the music in question. | |
