A Surprise Inside

Who'd have thought
that something so amazing
could come out of me?
Me--a poor ugly hag,
as seen by all.
You see me,
but not me.
You see me,
and I want to
believe exactly how
you see me.
A hulking frame,
but a dwarf-sized presence.
I shrink before I speak,
I cry before I am told.
I discover me, through you,
you're showing me my ropes,
showing me I am a woman.
I now can see the sky,
I'm catching all the stars.

Throw me in the air,
I won't fall, I'll soar.
Back home!
