The
British American Racing team announced a new long-term
agreement with computer company Acer on Friday. The deal,
which comes into effect from this weekend's Spanish Grand
Prix, will see Acer become a corporate partner of the team, as
well as their official computer hardware supplier.
"I
am delighted to welcome Acer to the team," said BAR boss
Dave Richards in a press release. "State-of-the-art
technology and its reliable application are critical in the
demanding environment of Formula One. Acer will, without
doubt, make a significant contribution to driving BAR to the
front of the field."
Meanwhile,
Gianfranco Lanci, president of Acer Europe, commented:
"We were extremely impressed with the team's (BAR's)
commitment to succeeding in Formula One and the outstanding
service they provide to team partners. We look forward to a
long and successful relationship."
Established
in 1976, Acer is Europe's fifth largest mobile PC vendor and
also has operations across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and
the Americas. |
