BackWhat is Forever Kingdom?
The Good, The Bad, The... Kazham Parties

Razorskin [06/03/04]
So, I finally got to Kazham over the past weekend. Bought my pass, rode the ship (see below), got to Kazham, realized I didn't have a map, got info from another player that the map is sold in Jeuno, went BACK to Jeuno, bought the map for 3K and then returned.

Kazham, in my experience, is 50% suck ass/50% great exp.

My first party consisted of 3 BLM, 1 WHM, 1 SAM and myself. I'm both puller AND tank. I can't keep aggro from all the spam nuking. But, we burn through Mandy's like they're made of butter and I gain 5k+ experience in 3 hours. So, yes that's a good party.

Party #2 - 1 RNG, 1 PAL, 1 SMN/WHM, 1 WHM, 1 DRK and myself. The leader drags us deep into the heart of the second forest where we get 200 exp a kill, but have to deal with tons of downtime and getting killed and aggrod by gobs all the ****ing time. I die twice but never lose aggro to the mages because the PAL and I are generating so much hate. We maybe get 2k exp in 4 hours, which makes all the frustration NOT worth the time. Luckily, the rest of the party is pretty good to hang with.

Party #3 - I don't recall who was in this PT and too be honest, I don't care. We spent the better part of an hour standing around as people trained goblins to the zone leading to Kazham and listening to people shout about not zoning gobs. Got 700 exp in 2 hours. For those wondering, the goblins in Kazham are fucking brutal and easily a number of levels higher than our parties. To intentionally fight one is folly.

A night later, I figure out how to make money with the 2-Leaf Mandy Buds that keep dropping but it completely sucks me dry of gil. I get into another party, who camps in a horrible spot when goblins SPAWN! We die, leader leaves, we find another place to camp and I get 700 experience points before leaving for the night.

So, I'm leaving Kazham until I have both more gil and more than an hour or two to actually get into a party.

 A New Format

Razorskin [05/28/04]
Okay, so I just went ahead and said "Screw it..." Instead of continuing to scrape together nonsensical content, I figured we'd make this site about what it was heading to anyway.. Final Fantasy XI. For those who haven't seen it already, we have a growing Photo Album that you should try and check out. Yeah, the old content is still hanging around, but expect a lot of pics and maybe a couple of stories about living in the world of Vana'diel.

Having said that.. I finally got my third and final key to get to Kazham while soloing in Giddeus. The first night was pretty ugly, with me soloing the higher end yagudo in the area and dying twice when more then one decided to kill me. The second night involved me, Tihm, Syrenia and Seraphstrike running around the south chamber, killing anything that would stand still. Problem was that everyone else in the area were also looking to kill the yagudo. It was like I was back in Valkurm all over again. So, after three hours of that, no key and I had to go. On night three, I had better luck soloing because I knew where to look and where to go for downtime for healing. After a LVL 20 Thief ran into the south chamber with a Yagudo Votary on his ass, only to die before I could get to him, a second Votary spawned. I killed it, got my key and headed back to Windurst.

Did that mean I went straight to Jeuno to take the airship? Nope. I stuck around Windurst and before an hour was up, I had an invite to help a couple Rank 2 San D'Orians kill the Windurst Dragon. Since I had already killed the Bastok Dragon, it was no problem for me to help. After an hour of scraping together a party, we had a Red Mage, Dragoon, Monk/Samurai, myself (Warrior/Monk), Black Mage and Thief. When we finally reached the Burning Circle, we lost the thief, who apparently wasn't ready. So, the Monk and myself broke out our two-hour special abilities and tore through the dragon like a hot knife through butter as the rest of the party wasted the Seeker.

So, now that I'd done that, all that's left to do before moving onto Kazham, is to make sure Syrenia has all her keys and waste the Bastok Dragon again. Good fun.
