Left fielder Albert Belle connected with a 'big fly' as the Cleve95 Indians
defeated the Cleve54 Indians 4 to 2 at Jacobs Field.
 
Cleve95 brought 3 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning when they had 3 base
hits.  After an out was recorded, Kenny Lofton got things rolling when he
drew a walk.  One out later, Carlos Baerga stepped in and he slapped a
base-hit scoring a run.  Belle then stroked a one-base hit.  Eddie Murray was
up next and he doubled scoring one more run.  Jim Thome stepped into the box
and drew a walk to load the bases.  Manny Ramirez continued the rally and
drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning.  That was all Orel
Hershiser(1-0) needed.  Cleve95 ended up with 7 hits for the game while
Cleve54 had 3.  
 
Hershiser was helped out by Jose Mesa who recorded his 1st save.  The loss was
charged to Bob Lemon(0-1).  He allowed 4 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.

Catcher Jim Hegan slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Municipal Stadium as the
Cleve54 Indians staged a comeback win over the Cleve95 Indians by the count
of 9 to 8.
 
Cleve54 had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs using 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Al Smith got things rolling when he delivered a
one-base hit.  Bobby Avila followed and he drew a walk.  Jose Mesa then
uncorked a wild pitch.  Larry Doby came up and he was walked intentionally to
load the bases.  Al Rosen stepped into the box and drew a walk which scored a
run.  Billy Glynn kept the inning going and hit a deep fly scoring one more
run.  Dave Philley was next and he lined a base-hit making Cleve54 the
winners and sending the 29,850 fans home happy.  A wild affair, this game saw
the lead change 5 times.  
 
The win was credited to Don Mossi(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning allowing no
runs. Mesa(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 3
walks in 2/3 of an inning.

Dennis Martinez pitched a complete game and Jim Thome hit one over the fence
and had 4 RBI at Municipal Stadium as the Cleve95 Indians beat the Cleve54
Indians 11 to 4.
 
Thome had a big evening at the plate.  He doubled in the 2nd inning, laced a
single plating two runs in the 3rd inning and smashed a two-run homer (his
1st of the season) in the 8th inning.  Cleve95 rapped out 15 hits for the
night.  
 
The victory was credited to Martinez(1-1) who went the distance, allowing 4
runs. Mike Garcia(1-1) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 12 hits and 4
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Bob Lemon came through with a solid 11 innings as the Cleve54 Indians defeated
the Cleve95 Indians in 12 innings 1 to 0 at Municipal Stadium.
 
Neither team scored in the first nine innings.  Cleve54 ended up winning it in
the 12th inning.  After two outs Dave Philley drew a walk.  George Strickland
came next and he stroked a single.  Strickland took second on the throw.  Hal
Naragon then banged out a single resulting in an exciting win for Cleve54 and
a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Cleve54 had 10 hits
overall, while Cleve95 had 4.  
 
Don Mossi(2-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. The loss was
charged to Eric Plunk(0-1) in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 and
2/3 innings.

Kenny Lofton enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He lined a one-base hit in

The key at-bat was by Belle who quieted the home crowd when he cracked a
two-run shot (his 5th of the season).  Cleve95 had 16 hits overall, while
Cleve54 had 13.

Dave Philley had 2 base hits and Early Wynn allowed Al Lopez to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game at Jacobs Field where the Cleve54 Indians
beat the Cleve95 Indians 6 to 4.
 
Cleve54 brought 3 runs across the plate in the top of the 6th inning when they
had 3 base hits.  They would hold up as the winning runs.  Cleve95 went down
quietly in the bottom of the 9th.  
 
Wynn(1-3) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Charles Nagy(3-1) was

victors over the Cleve54 Indians by the score of 3 to 1.
 
Martinez was in control of the game from the outset.  He didn't allow much,
just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA to 4.72.
Cleve54 was out-hit by Cleve95, 8 hits to 5.  
 
Jose Mesa earned his 3rd save. The Indians of ’95 clinched the Series with this win.
