This year's Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Races were held at Stanton, Michigan's Mid-Michigan Motorplex on September 17-18, 2004! Once again, the hard work of Bob Boden and Dan Jensen paid off !!

This was the fourth year that the GTS has been entered in this event. It just keeps getting better and better. The best the car could muster was a 14.58 @ 93.16mph. It ran more consistant this year than in years' past due to fuel system upgrade and pump replacement. Glad it made it to the track considering during the "Woodward Dream Cruise" ( three week's prior ) it suffered from a series of problems. Worst of all was a two year old Crane camshaft that decided to eliminate two of its intake lobes!!!!! Luckily, I had a 360 truck cam that originally was put in the 340 four year's ago and then replaced with a stock 340 grind cam from Crane Cams. The old RV cam did just fine!

It was also real nice for Karen and I to hang out with our good friends Dave, Korlyn, Gord, Joan, Steve, Cindy, JonR., Marci, JonW., Kaye, Greg, Paul, Donny, and Rusty!! We were also graced with some folks from home that came out and visited and are already planning to come back next year!!! Kenya, Francois, Jeremiah 1 and 2, Jalen, Bill, Janine, Russ, Laurie, Phil, Lisa, Gene and Courtney are all new Pure Stock racing fans!! THANKS for coming out!

We did miss a number of our Studebaker buddies as they had a conflicting Regional Meet in Indianapolis that same weekend! The "Red Tomato" and the "Red Hawk Racing Team" did make the Stanton event along with a few more Studebaker racers!

Another positive note is that this year's event was filmed by Dennis Gage and crew from the Speedchannel program My Classic Car!! I was one of the lucky car owners to be interviewed by Dennis!!! He is as ENTHUSIASTIC about musclecars in real life as he appears on his show!!! Look for this program to "air" sometime in March/April of 2005!!!

In the meantime, enjoy the pictures below! Forgive the "fuzziness" of some of the shots. My 35mm camera decided to quit working that weekend so I was reduced to turning up the resolution on my non-adjustable digital camera in hopes of getting larger pictures for the website! Hope you still like them!

Great crowd and a gorgeous day for racing!

As you will see in the descriptions below, there were some REALLY RARE rides running out there!! If you ever attend one of these events, you will spend your time constantly saying to yourself: "WOW! I can't remember the last time I saw one of those!" Or, "I have NEVER seen one of those!!!"

Now........on with the pictures!!!!
