Subject: Class 1966 Scholar/Athlete Endowment Fund
Hello, Fellow Classmates
With the days nearing Christmas and the New Year, you might like to know how our Class 1966 Scholar/Athlete Endowment Fund is doing. At the October class meeting, it was agreed to add on the title "Scholar" to the already established Athlete Fund. The Fund is now called the Class 1966
Scholar/Athlete Endowment Fund.
This fall, $390 was collected from 7 classmates; 84% of the donations were for $66.00 each. Three other classmates have pledged donations, as well.
Donors were: Shirley Allen, Elaine Aiello, Jim Reineck, Annette Black, Mary Lynn Lally, Morton Goldstein, and Virginia Borggaard
The Committee extends appreciation to these individuals for their class spirit and generosity.
The Fund principal is now a wee bit over $13,000. During the next two months, the Committee will be working closely with the Gallaudet Office of Development to write up and finalize a Memo of Understanding (MOU). The first
Fund disbursements from our accrued earnings (currently $7340) will be during Spring 2004.
As soon as everything is complete, we will report back to you via our Class Digest. And an informative updated fund chart will be shown, courtesy of Alan Fraenkel.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of last minute year-end tax deductions is welcome to send a donation to my address:
Virginia Borggaard, Class Fund Chair
2453 Bear Den Rd
Frederick, MD 21701
Checks should be made payable to Class 1966 Scholar/Athlete Endowment Fund.
Thanks.
Our Seasons' Greetings to all from the Committee,
Jini, Al Couthen, Ernie Hoffman and Lois Hoover (newest member)
