Subject: REUNION (from Jini)
Dear Class of 1966'ers:
The Reunion Committee wishes to share with you that the Class of 1966 has an endowed fund, called the Class of '66 Athletic Endowment Fund at Gallaudet (managed by the Office of Development). When the fund reached the $10,000 mark, it became endowed, which means it was able to draw earnings for disbursement in the form of awards. No awards have been given out yet, because the Class needs to first draw up a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Office of Development.
As of 10/10/01, the endowed (principal) balance is $10,767.05, with $5,684.99 available in earnings.
In time, the Class of 1966 key representatives and the Office of Development need to meet to set up written procedures for the use of the earnings from the fund. This will take some time. At the Saturday night dinner, those of our classmates present can choose several representatives to work with the Office of Development in writing up the MOU agreement. A report to all of you will be made in time via our Yahoo e-groups as to the names of the chosen representatives, and the progress undertaken in developing the MOU.
This being our 35th Reunion, and a very special time for celebration, we are asking those of you who are unable to come to make generous donations to this Fund. The goal is $1966.00!
Names of donors (names only) will be announced after the reunion on our web site.
Please make checks payable to Class of '66 Athletic Endowment Fund, and send before October 19th to:
Jini Borggaard
2453 Bear Den Rd
Frederick, Md 21701-9321
Won't you help make this possible? A thermometer chart will be shown with the current balance and the new donations, along with names of donors, at the Saturday night dinner. All received checks will be turned over to the Office of Development for acknowledgement.
Thank you!
Jini, Class 1966 Fund Chair
