35th Reunion Meeting Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Jeanie Shickel's house 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. In attendance: Jeanie Shickel, Glenna Garner (visitor), Al Couthen, Elaine Aiello, Mary Lynn Lally, and Annette Black. Absent: Brenda Mitchiner, Ernie Hoffman, and Jini Borggaard. Jeanie as the Chairperson for the 35th Reunion, Annette volunteered to be the note taker. On one of the agenda, Jeanie brought up the duties for the committee members, I'll brief it then explain in more details as we go. The duties for the Hotel will be Elaine Aiello Basketball Maddess on February 10th, Annette Black and Al Couthen will co-chair for this event; Mary Lynn Lally, the treasurer. Basketball Madness - February 10th: Al and Annette will co-chair the event. Each committee members are to bake goodies (4 dozen) such as brownies, chocolate chip cookies and bars, marshmallow Rice Krispies (bars) chex mix, ILY candy and chocolate covered popcorn. We will also contact others who live locally to help us bake goodies for this event. The game will be from one to six p.m. We need to be at the Field House at 12:30 p.m. to set up the booth. Webmaster: None of us on the committee is familiar with Webmaster. If one does and works at Gallaudet University, we could have Webmaster at no cost. Since Jeanie is not familiar with it. Alan Frankel seems to be pro on Webmaster, however he does not live here or works at Gallaudet. It cost quite a bit of money to have Webmaster set up. We decided to drop it. In the future Jeanie may take a course on Webmaster at her own time. Perhaps later we can decide to have it or not. Hotels: Elaine is responsible for the hotels. Jeanie and Elaine will work together to finalize which hotel is the best for us. Annette, Jeanie, and Elaine already went to look at several hotels weeks before. Several hotels have their pro and cons: prices varies, rooms for us to have the gathering in one area. At the meeting we are leaning "toward" the Holiday Inn in College Park which is more convenient to go to Gallaudet. More information will be given on the next meeting. Treasurer: Mary Lynn is responsible for gathering any funds for our class reunion, like many of us brought up donating money while others who live locally will do some fund raising like the February Madness with goodies. Those who want to contribute, can send checks to Mary Lynn Lally, 9405 Daysville Ave., Walkersville, MD 21793. Cruise: Due to restricted timing for the cruise on Friday, (luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m in S.W. of Washington) we feel most of us will arrive late Friday afternoon and the capacity of people will not be enough for us to get on the cruise. We decided to have the gathering in a restaurant in the evening where we all can meet and once again to get acquainted with one another after all those missing years. Class Photo: We are to have a gathering for our class reunion photo on Saturday, October 20, 2001, at 11:45 sharp at the Tower Clock. Meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
