Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie

UPDATED January 2008. I got this recipe from the www.verybestbaking.com website but have slightly modified it over the years that I have been making it. Yep, mine is better.
This pie is one of my easiest to make and has never lasted for more than a day with Mallory around.
If you use a store bought crust, this is the easiest and fastest pie to make, and it is VERY good.

Graham cracker crust:
1 packages graham crackers {I like the chocolate ones, but the regular ones are fine}
{I used the food processor to grind them, but it also can be done with a rolling pin and a big ziplock bag}
1/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted {I use the microwave to melt}

Mix cracker crumbs and sugar and dump into pie pan.
Add the butter and mix.
Use a cup to evenly flatten the mixture on the bottom and sides of pan.
Put the pie pan in the fridge to set up while mixing the filling.

Filling:
1 unbaked pie shell. {I like the store bought graham cracker ready-crust if not making my own.}
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened {I put in the microwave for 16 seconds to soften from the fridge}
1 cup (6 oz.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts (Optional. I have never tried them)

Directions: PREHEAT oven to 325° F.
Make crust and put the pie pan in the fridge while mixing the filling, or just pull the top off of a ready-crust

BEAT eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy.
Beat in flour, sugar, brown sugar, salt, vanilla and butter.
Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.

BAKE for 55 to 70 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. I set the timer for an hour, and then check, for my oven.
Cool on wire rack.{Yeah right...for about 10 minutes or until you can get the milk out of the fridge}
Serve warm with whipped cream.
Put on a pot of tea and call Frank to come over ;)
