The MDTA'S fleet- by garage.
The MDTA's Metrobus division has three garages.
At one time, until 1981, there was only one garage- Central, which until that year was in Liberty City, along NW 27 Avenue above NW 62 St. It moved to it's present location in 1981. That same year the South garage opened in Cutler Ridge. The next garage to open was Coral Way, in 1983. In 1984 or so the South garage closed. I assume it was torn down since it was behind the South Dade Governmet center, and there's only a parking lot back there now. The following year, in 1985, Northeast opened. Since then no more garages have opened. However, some hot gossip was floating around a while back that Paratransit would be moved out of CW and given it's own garage on the site of the old South garage in Cutler Ridge. That would be pretty good since it frees up some space at CW for them to get more buses without retiring older ones. And Paratransit can expand like a hot-air balloon. And my commute to work would be exactly five minutes! Hee,Hee....

CENTRAL
Original garage...previously was located on NW 27th Avenue, currently on NW 32 Ave. just below 36th St. in Allapattah.

NORTHEAST
This garage handles the far-North Dade routes as well as some beach and mainland routes to Downtown. It's on Miami Gardens Drive and I-95 in North Miami Beach. Interestingly,this garage is the only one with no articulateds.
