Do you see two people who have weathered many storms together, and know that their best friend is still right beside them? Do you look at elderly couples who are still very much in love and say to yourself, that�s what I hope for? Do you see yourself sitting on the front porch at dusk, watching fireflies flit around the yard, while holding hands with the one who�s dearest to your heart? Do you hope that one day you�ll be blessed with a gentle, Christian mate who�ll be there with you when you take your final breath and go on loving you after death?
Do you hope for someone to fight with over the last slice of cake? Someone who will tickle you until you almost pass out from hysteria? Someone who is a good loser at board games? Someone who will hide the remote control, so you have time to talk to each other? Someone who will nag you to take out the trash? Someone who will thank you for the smallest gesture of affection? Someone who will give you a great back rub when you�re tired? Someone who will make up goofy lyrics to a song on the radio?
Do you want spontaneous hugs and kisses? Do you want to hear the words �I love you� every day? Do you want to go to bed every night and wake up every morning with the one you love beside you? Do you want to feel safe, knowing that you�ll never be cheated on or lied to? Do you want to know that someone loves you and will stand beside you when those bumps in the road come your way?
Do you want to discuss deep personal issues with someone? Someone you can cuddle with on the couch while watching a movie? Someone who is intelligent and not just ornamental? Someone who has a sense of humor? Someone who has a solid faith in God? Someone who loves life and can find good in most any situation? Someone who can make others feel welcome and comfortable in your home?
Do you want a mate who will give themselves freely to you and expect the same in return? Do you want to be able to look at them and know that the relationship is a gift? Someone who can get along with your family and friends? Someone who will put your welfare and happiness before their own? Someone who will tell you when you�re wrong and support you when you�re right? Someone you are so comfortable with that there is no need for pretending that you�re fine, when your day was totally rotten? Someone you can share your deepest feelings and desires with?
Do you long for someone to hold you at the end of the day? Someone to tell you things will be better soon? Someone who is just there for you, no matter what? Someone who will argue with you about which TV show to watch? Which radio station to listen to? What to have for dinner? And after all the arguments and compromises are over, someone who will stay with you, because they choose to love you?
Do you want to be with someone who will use all of their God-given talents to make a difference in your life and their own? Someone who will never let you wallow in self pity alone, but will join you in your tears until they are spent? Someone who will �goose� you just to see you jump? Someone who will laugh at your lame jokes, even though they�ve heard the same one a million times? Someone who will bring you soup and crackers when you�re sick, and you won�t mind doing the same for them? Someone who will slip their hand into yours and give it a good strong squeeze when you look like you need a friend?
Do you need someone in your life who will cheer from the sidelines when you�re participating in your favorite sport? Someone who will not be offended if you want to be with your old friends, because they have their own friends to spend time with?
Do you want to feel cherished and adored without feeling smothered? Do you want to have someone if your life that isn�t going to walk away when things get rough? Someone who has been through valleys in their own life and lived to see another day? Someone who has watched a loved one die slowly, day after day, and never given in to defeat? Someone who�s faith gives them that extra strength to go on?
It�s the life I wish for myself, and I wonder if there is a good Christian man out there somewhere that wants the same things.
