NYMPHENBURG
Dapple Grey Rearing Stallion
Wow!  This magnificent stallion stands just over 9.25" tall
and was made in Germany.  The archives department at the Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory informed me that this piece was sculpted by August Gohring and was produced from 1930 to 1963.  It is actually titled in German, "Aufbaumendes Pferd" (sorry, I don't have the little accent marks), but in English is translated as "Rearing Stallion".  The sculptor A. Gohring was born on Sept. 25, 1891 in Thuringen, Germany and was a master artist at Nymphenburg between 1914-1965.  The creamy finish quality of this older porcelain figurine is absolutely incredible, and cannot be fully appreciated in these photos.
