MISCELLANEOUS
Dapple Grey Draft Horse
This horse stands approximately 6" tall at the crest of the neck and was made
in England by a company called "Melwood Potteries, Ltd."  The manufacturer label
is shown to the right.  I have seen only one or two others, so they appear to
be quite rare.  I have been told by someone that bought one new that they
were made in the 1970's.  This particular figurine was shipped to us from Canada.
GIANT Bay Draft Horse
This horse stands a whopping 9.5" tall at the crest of the neck and is 12.5" long!  It is yet another high-quality draft horse made by the elusive "Melwood Potteries, Ltd." company in England.  The feet are padded with leather underneath, and the label affixed beneath the foot is shown to the left.  This one was purchased and shipped to us from Washington state.
Large Thoroughbred
This horse stands just over 8.5" tall and very closely resembles Beswick's Bois Roussel Racehorse.  This one is a tad bit larger however, and the placement of the legs and feet is slightly different, giving this horse a more "forward" stance.  The only marking stamped underneath the horse is the number "235" and a very small capital "A".
Running Elephant
This incredibly delicate little guy stands just 3.5" tall, and is beautifully glazed.  He is marked as shown by Hutschenreuther in Germany.  Age unknown.  Just look at that tail!
Relaxed Elephant
This is another neat little elephant that stands just 3.0" tall.  He is marked as shown by the "ENS" company (I believe that is "Carl Ens").  Age unknown, but these certainly aren't new.  This guy is glazed white with hints of brown and his eyes are black.  The ears are incredibly thin and delicate, and these photos really don't do this little guy justice.
