BESWICK / ROYAL DOULTON
Spirit of Earth
This powerful Shire drafter was made in England by Beswick.  It is 7.5" tall and was sculpted by Graham Tongue.  This particular model was originally mounted on a ceramic plinth, but it took a tumble down the stairs while in a moving box one day...and voila!  No more plinth!  At least the horse was OK (I didn't like the plinth anyway).  This brown gloss colourway on the ceramic plinth was only offered in 1987.
Mare (Facing Left)
This gentle creature was made in England by Beswick.  It is 6.75" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This is model #976 in the brown gloss colourway and was produced from 1941 to 1989.
Donkey
This little guy was made in England by Beswick.  He stands 4.5" tall and was sculpted by Mr. Orwell.  This is model #1364B in the natural gloss colourway and was produced from 1955 until now.  The Beswick factory just recently closed, so these pieces are no longer being made.
Grazing Shire
What a neat mare!  She was made in England by Beswick and stands 5.5" tall.  Sculpted by Arthur Gredington, this is model #1050 in the brown gloss colourway and was produced from 1946 until 1970.  She is one of my favorites, and is not the easiest model to find.
Large Alsatian
This is model #969 "Ulrica of Brittas", made in England by Beswick.  It stands 5.75" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This is the black and light brown gloss colourway, and was produced between 1942-1994.
Bois Roussel Racehorse
This is model #DA42, made in England by Royal Doulton, the "parent" company to Beswick.  It stands 8.0" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This is the newer second version in brown gloss, and was produced between 1989-1999.
Prancing Arabian Palomino
This is model #1261, made in England by Beswick.  It stands 6.75" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This is the "first version" with the better detail, lighter color, and thicker tail.  It was produced between 1952 and unknown.
Canadian Mountie
This is model #1375, made in England by Beswick.  It stands 8.25" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  I believe this is the black colourway, though the black almost looks brown in some areas so it's hard to tell.  This is a very rare model and was only produced between 1955 - 1976.
Shetland Ponies
The mare is model #1033 and the foal is model #1034, made in England by Beswick.  The mare stands 5.75" tall and the foal stands 3.75" tall. They were both sculpted by Arthur Gredington and were produced between 1945 - 1989.
Large Head Down Foal
This is model #DA77, made in England by Royal Doulton.  It stands 4.55" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This was produced between 1989 - 1999.

Shire Mare
This is model #818, made in England by Beswick.  It stands 8.5" tall and was sculpted by Arthur Gredington.  This is the rare "Rocking Horse Grey" colourway, and was only produced between 1940-1962.
