In the beginning there was a jam session, just a simple,"Hey, lets rock out." This soon turned into the band known and loved as Five Weeks Later. This group consisted of four individuals. There was Alex Baxley on vocals and acoustic guitar, Kyle Bryant on lead electric guitar, David Hanna on bass, and Brandon Strawbridge on drums. the reason for the jam was the fact that we were going to be in a talent show together and figured we should play together. Well, the name probably took the longest to come up with. The band at the time was stumped in finding a name. We spent weeks thinking of one. One day Brandon said, "Dude, we've been thinking of a name for like five weeks ................ THAT'S IT!!!" And with that statement the band was finally named Five Weeks Later.
Alex soon after became busy with school and his original band , Time Between Us, so we had to do something drastic. We asked Carey Murdock to join our group. Carey has brought a whole new sound and many songs to the group, but Alex will always be with us.
Well, time has progressed since we have gained Carey. Our sound has become very diverse. Also, sadly David has chosen another path to not be in the band anymore. No worries though because we have picked up Will Harlan. His mad skills on the bass have changed our sound once again. This kid has some major talent and we are glad to call him a member of Five Weeks Later. There have been many changes going on, but that will not stop the music. |
