| Where are they now?
- Johnnie Fingers - after the disbanding of The Boomtown Rats, Johnnie Fingers and Simon Crowe put together a band called "Gung Ho" (featuring Simon on lead vocals) and in 1987 released a 3-track CD single featuring the title track "Play To Win". I finally found a copy of this CD and purchased it. Trust me, it is excellent!!! Johnnie Fingers is currently living in Japan and working for a music promotion company. He is also currently in a band called "Greengate". - Simon Crowe - worked with Johnnie Fingers on the "Gung~Ho" project. He is currently playing in a band called "Jiggery Pipery". - Gerry Cott, after his departure from The Boomtown Rats, released some solo material including a single entitled "The Ballad of The Lone Ranger". Gerry is currently working on an album of 18th Irish Baroque Music that he describes as "18th Century Irish Art Music crashes head on into the 21st century". - Pete Briquette has played on Bob Geldof's last two solo efforts, "The Vegetarians of Love" and "The Happy Club". He is also working as a record producer. He has worked with such musicians as "Tricky", "The Frames", a Dutch singer named "Bloem de Ligny", and a French singer named "Renaud". Recently, Pete produced Bob Geldof's latest effort entitled "Sex, Age, and Death", which was released in late 2001. - Garry Roberts is an Independent Financial Advisor working for members of the medical profession. Garry is currently in a band called "The Velcro Flies" playing "loud and nasty" rhythm & blues. - Bob Geldof is a successful business man, but more importantly, he's one hell of a songwriter and musician.
