Rite of Passage

Have you noticed that guys are pussies lately? It's not coincidence.. People go well into what should be adulthood, all the time under subconscious conflict over their status as people. This is for males especially.. Males require a rite of passage to become men. This has been known for thousands of years.. since the beginning of man, there has been manhood. And we need to know when we are men. There are exceptions, many people know they are men at a young age.. and you can tell by the way they act. Though they still might be assholes, they are more mature about it. And, the other can be true to, a very nice, good looking, educated male can be a boy. And though it can be hard to explain the difference between a man and a boy when age isn't a factor, it isn't hard to see. There is an air about people that know they are men. Usually it is in the rougher types.. the outdoorsmen, industrial workers.. but not limited to that, CEO's are usually men... basically you can sense it. Some groups here in the united states still carry out a rite of passage.. The Jews for instance, have their barmitzvas.. but at age thirteen (when they take place) all other aspects of society are telling those poor bastards that they are still kids, leaving them confused. This is true for all the other events that should be a rite of passage.. car license, high school graduation, leaving home, drinking age, and finally at college graduation they are clear to fully think of themselves as men. By this point they are left subconsciously beaten and have emotional baggage. Basically, even though they are finally recognized as men by society as a whole, they are already spineless weaklings destined to lives of getting fucked over by women, thinking they are gay, mid-life crisis's, and worrying about staying feminine. Why can't they be fully realized by society until this much too late point in their lives? Well, because there's always something else in front of it before they have the freedom that men have. First off, there's the driver's license.. this is the first major event in most boy's lives, and they look forward to it for a long time. Then they have the freedom of getting around easier.. get to join the adults on the road. But, almost no one recognizes them as men at this point, for they are still in school. High school graduation.. a lot of people think that this is the rite of passage that I am underestimating. Well, they are overestimating it. Even though at this point a lot of people get called adults, they still can't go to a bar with their friends and drink (a much more major activity that one would think) and more importantly, college.. college is the de-manifier  of America.. it isn't a higher education anymore, it's a prolonged education. People in college are viewed as big school kids. They haven't started their lives as adults yet, haven't entered the 'real world'. In fact, most of them openly admit that they are prolonging their childhood. They are proud of it. They spend most of their time partying and having fun. That isn't to say that having fun doesn't have its place in life.. but a lot of college students take it to a childish level. There are always exceptions as I said before, there are a lot of college men. But they are not the majority. People could say that it's just a smooth transition from childhood to maturity.. I would agree. But who ever got strong from an easy life?
