The Cast for The Vagina Monologues
V-Day FIU 2005 College Campaign

Felicidad Garcia

To me, V-Day is an emblem for the strength and sisterly support that resides in all women and keeps
them going when violence and hatred try to topple their standing. It is that support that keeps women loving,
laughing, breathing.

I have always loved the candid, unapologetic honesty of the Vagina Monologues.

V-day is a day for awareness of the violence that women all over the world face everyday.
It is a day were women are celebrated. It is a day when women learn ways to protect
themselves against this violence that is often times caused by the suppression that
 women are sometimes victim to.

What does V-Day mean to you?
It is a chance to spread awareness of violence towards women and girls—a chance to change minds and save lives.

Why did you decide to take a part in this year’s production of the Vagina Monologues?
I wanted to remind everyone that there really is nothing like a woman’s vertical smile.

Monica Palacio

To me, V-Day is about making the public aware of the power of women, their beauty, intelligence and feminine pride.

I wanted to support the sharing of the stories universal to all women.

Toni Palmieri

To me V-day is an opportunity to celebrate the essence of what makes women so special. It also gives us
an opportunity to educate people about female sexuality.

I decided to take part in V-Day this year because
I felt a natural attraction to the pieces in this play.
They are real and can teach us to much about ourselves and how others see us.

Annie Shipherd

There are many aspects of "being a woman" that go unspoken of: ignored, or completely disregarded,
while women are literally dying to address them.  I am graciously honored to be involved.
