SITE HISTORY:

April 2000.

The whole thing started when I received an e-mail from a 13yr old girl in the UK,

She is the daughter of my brother-in-law’s niece and she wanted to know all

About Adelaide as she was coming out for a visit with her mom’s new family, step dad & two younger stepbrothers for a 16-day holiday.

So it began, I started to send her web site addresses and tell her about S.A.

In general things to see & do, having brought up two girls of my own I tried to remember the things girls like at that age plus general family activities.

I didn’t know at the time, they where here to check us out for the future when they

Could immigrate here, after checking out the USA the year before and not liking it, they decided to check us out.

To them we came out with flying colors and they decided they wanted to live here, so they gathered all the information they could to take with them.

When they arrived home they found out that they where lacking in some quarters and asked me to help.

I gathered all I could on imigrating for them and they’re English Sheep dog, and as the step father is a police officer in the UK I included all the S.A. Police web sites.

All the information I gathered for them I thought was wasted sitting in my hard drive,

So when I read that Yahoo/Geocities offer free web sites, I though lets share it with others with similar thoughts, it all came together, one week before Christmas 2000.

Note: The photos:

‘Kangaroos’ one is an albino, both are females with normal babies (Joeys) in their        pouches taken at Cleland Wildlife Park.

‘Katie’ is a half grown female rescued as a little baby after her mother had been killed in a road accident and hand fed by my next-door neighbor.

Both photos where taken at the time of their visit.

Adelaide Oval and City Skyline taken the day after Australia v West Indies Cricket Game, and two days after I thought I would have to pay for photos, 27-01-2001.

Camera: All photos taken with a Panasonic Digital Video Camera Model NV-DS11 with snapshot function.

I am a retired person on a mature age allowance and want to keep the web site free for everybody, when I asked for the free use of some photos for my site I was referred to a site where I would have to pay for the use of any photos, so I went out and took my own photo.

Since then a very friendly lady at sacentral has given me a few suggestions to follow up on.

Which just about brings us up to date.
