Cool Stuff

Here are some links to my favourite music and entertainment sites.

This page, my darlings, is screamingly funny!

Pong

Dave Shaw makes wonderful whistles. I've been using them exclusively ever since I discovered them about 3 years ago.

Shaw Whistles

Also pretty damn wicked in the instrument department is the glass flute. I adore these things, they're so damn sexy!

Hall Crystal Flutes

My all-time favourite musician is the German composer who more or less single handedly invented the techno/ambient/electronica thing. He's been doing that sort of thing for over 30 years now.

Klaus Schulze

Also, his first band, for whom he was the drummer on the very first album, can also be very very cool. Either that or they suck...it's a 50/50 thing with them. But they are the only band I know of that consists of a father and son. And when they're good they're very very good. Check them out

Tangerine Dream

An amazing band from the UK, who just get better and better, even though they seem to get less and less famous...but by God they're good!

Shriekback

One of the masters of instrumental music (pity about his vocal music) is Mike Oldfield. The guy's a genius. I don't much care for his official site, but there is a good unofficial one.

The Bell

And how could I not mention Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard? These guys are amazing!

Dead Can Dance

Lastly (for now) but not leastly, the Australian Gothic Elvis, an absolute fucking genius, Mr Nicholas Edward Cave

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Now for some writers. First, I'd like to introduce you to Robert Rankin, who I regard as the master of stupid humour, my favourite kind of humour.

Sprout Lore

Stephen Fry, also, is an absolute genius. He's an author, an actor, and one of the greatest English wits since Oscar Wilde (who he played in the film "Wilde")

QuickFry

And how could I possibly not include the author of the 26 books of the Discworld series?

Terry Pratchett

More will be coming soon.
