Once upon a time...

There was a little girl in Queens New York, who just loved to perform in front of a crowd.  She took dance lessons from the early age of 2 until she was a teenager.  Ballet, Tap, Toe and Jazz.  She performed at the recitals every year and just felt very natural and comfortable on the stage.  She loved the crowds applauds and the feeling she got when all eyes were on her even more than the actual dance.
As she got a little older she would enter talent shows and competitions.  She was very competitive by nature.  She wanted to win whatever she entered and would work very hard at making sure that she would.  In college she organized Fashion shows and commented at most of them.  Being in front of a large audience felt good.
Then there was a period of her life after college where there were no crowds, no audience, no competitions.  It seemed like it was all but in the past.  Until...Fitness Competitions.
Hi, that girl that is mentioned is me.  Tara Scotti.  I am a fitness model/Figure competitor from New York.  I have been on the fitness scene for the past 6 years. (On and off) I started working out about 10 years ago and I took to the gym like a duck takes to water.  I started seeing changes in my physique right away and it got me so excited that I just wanted to train harder and learn as much as I could on any topic related to fitness. I became obsessed with muscle.   My trainer Gerry was very instrumental in my early years.  He was my mentor from the start.  It was he who encouraged me to get certified to be a personal trainer ( I was working unhappily in the garment district of NYC at the time, which is what I went to college for - Fashion).  And it was he who encouraged me to do my first fitness competition.    A decision that changed my life.

DECEMBER  2003

I ended 2003 with back- to- back  wins at the East Coast Figure Championships in NJ, and the Eastern USA Figure Championships in NY.
I also signed an endorsement deal with Twinlab.  I am very happy to be working with a company that has a great reputation and has the finest quality supplements on the market.  2003 was a great year to say the least, but it will not come close to what I have in store for 2004.
I am planning on competing in the 3 pro-qualifiesr's this year.  They
are :

THE  NPC JUNIOR USA'S                 April 17th,  New Haven, CT

THE NPC  JUNIOR NATIONALS       June 18th,19th    Chicago, IL

THE  NPC NATIONALS                  August  6th,7th    New York, NY

I am currently in the middle of my pre-contest training for the Junior USA in April.  It willl be my first Pro-qualifier since returning to the sport.  I have my eye on the pro cards they are giving out to the winners of these shows.  If I do get my procard, you will see me competing in the first available IFBB show.  Its always been a dream to be on stage in a IFBB show.  I am so close I taste it....

You can see me at the Arnold Swartzenegger Classic in Columbus, Ohio on March 5-7.    I will be at the Twinlab booth at the expo.  Stop bye and say hello.  Hopefully the next time I update this is whne I have a pro card.
