ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Declan Patrick is the Artistic Director of Fighting Fit Productions, and has created and produced most of their work over the years.

Born in Auckland (New Zealand) in 1968, Declan Patrick has a Bachelors degree in English Literature, a postgraduate  Diploma in Drama and an Honours Masters degree in English, specialising in Drama and Cinema. At present he is completing his PhD in Contemporary Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University in England.

He has had extensive training in acting, dance and music, and specialises in making and teaching dance-theatre. He uses, in his work, a mixture of styles and influences, always exploring for new and innovative ways in which to communicate.

Declan Patrick works in a variety of fields; he teaches dance, theatre studies/history and voice at a range of levels, from beginner to advanced professional. He has taught for:  Arts School of Mianyang, University of Auckland, Auckland City Dance Center,  Victoria University (Wellington), Wellington Performing Arts Centre, De La Salle - College of St Benilide (Philippines) and currently teaches for University of Chester, and Dance Initiative Greater Manchester.

He also writes plays, articles and reviews. His work has been published  (and sometimes performed) in Spain, New Zealand and the Philippines

His original work with Fighting Fit Productions has been performed in New Zealand, England, Spain and China. His original work with other companies has been performed in England, China and the Philippines.

He has also worked with: Dance Umbrella (London), Turning Worlds Dance Theatre (London), Too Too Physical Film Theatre (London), soho Group(London), Bread Dance Theatre (London), Cafč Teatro (Madrid), Company Z (Auckland), Music Theatre Productions (Auckland), Benildanze (Philippines).
