Welcome to Fitfully Yours, LC. My name is Deb Finnestad and I am the owner and founder of Fitfully Yours, LC. I have since my senior year in high school struggled with my weight. After many years and three children I found myself in a severely obese state. I don't know what my weight actually was because my chart always read 350++ obese. My guess now would be that I weighed a little more than 400 pounds at my highest!
I have been on every DIET there is out there, and always had some success but it never failed I never could maintain my weight loss. I felt mostly like a big failure in the battle of the bulge, and really had given up hope to ever being healthy. I felt that I was destined to be fat!

Then in August of 1994, my family and I went to Adventureland Park, and everything changed. My oldest daughter asked me to ride the Tornado with her. I said I would, and after I said yes, I realized there was no way I could fit into the seat. As we got closer to the front of the line I remember wishing I would just die, because I didn't want to embarrass my daughter. We got to the front, and I got into the seat with my daughter, and the man running the ride couldn't get the seat bar down to lock because I was so large. Everyone was staring at us and I just wanted to die. He finally did get it to lock, and we went on the ride, and I thought everything was okay.

That evening when I took my clothes off I had huge bruises on both sides of my hips, and I realized that I had to lose weight. I didn't want to have to not do something with my children because I was too fat. Worse yet I feared I would die from obesity and leave my three girls without a mom. I knew I had to lose weight, but I still didn't know how.

I had tried exercise before, but I never liked it because it was uncomfortable to someone who is overweight. I never stuck with it before, so I decided I would start by walking and see what happened. When I first started walking, I couldn't even make it around my whole block. I just made myself go one house further each day. Before long I was walking all over without too much discomfort. I also started to lose weight, without even really trying, or dieting! In October of 1994 I joined our local YMCA so I could continue to walk during the winter months. They had a class that was only for people who were at least 25 pounds overweight. I started this class, which was stretching and toning, and loved it. The others in the class and I formed a support group and we all encouraged each other.

I was asked to teach a class for the overweight clients, so in January 1995 I started teaching. I loved it. I had found my true calling. I was enjoying teaching, and losing weight and the more I learned about exercise, and wellness the better I was.

In April of 1995 I had lost about 100 pounds and decided to have a breast reduction to ease my pain during exercise. I also decided to go back to school and get my degree in Health and Wellness promotions. I started teaching classes in businesses and for our community. I named my business Fitfully Yours, LC, and the rest is history! I have continued to teach fitness classes as well as doing weight loss consultation. I decided to add the support group classes to my services because I felt that women need to have on-going support. Once you lose your weight the journey is never over. We must continue to keep our life as healthy as possible. My goal is to help others stay motivated during their journey, and to help then reach their wellness goals. I have lost over 200 pounds! If I can do this so can YOU!! Go to services/fees to hear more about the classes.
