I.  Inauguration and Dinner

1.       Please be advised that the HKFISSA¡¦s first Executive Committee Inauguration Ceremony is to be held on Monday, 18 April at 6:45 pm.  You are cordially invited to attend on this occasion and to participate in the dinner gathering which follows thereafter to rub shoulders with your former colleagues and to exchange valuable experience of how a healthy retirement life should be passed.  Details of the function on the evening of the 18th instant are set out below:-

Time :            Cocktail Reception (commencing 5:50 pm)

                     Inauguration Ceremony (starting at 6:45 pm)

Social Dinner

Date :            Monday, 18 April 2005

Venue :          Same as above

Time :            Dinner starts at about 8:00 pm

Fee :              HK$200 per participant

II.  FISSA Updating

2.       Members may wish to know that, through the introduction of our fellow member Dr Yeung Hin-chung John, celebrated philanthropist Dr Stanley HO had contributed HK$500,000 to HKFISSA and for this we wish to express our deepest gratitude to Dr HO for his most generous donation, which would no doubt lend support to FISSA¡¦s future expenses.

3.       At the same time, the Executive Committee had duly endorsed the appointment of the following distinguishable figures in the various positions as shown below :

Hon Life Presidents -

Hon Mrs Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai, GBS, JP, President of Legislative Council ;

 

Dr Stanley Ho Hung-sun, GBS ;

 

Mr Ambrose Lee Siu-kwong, IDSM, JP, Secretary for Security;

4.   The above guests have all promised to attend the inauguration ceremony on 18 April as detailed above and other guests who follow suit include Hon Legal Advisors, Hon Auditor, Hon Advisors, and other directorate officers of the Immigration Department.

5.   Members please also not that the FISSA membership cards are also ready for collection at the function on the 18 April as described above.

III.  FISSA Activities

 6.   On 5 May 2005, an ¡§Easy Walk¡¨ will be organized for members¡¦ pleasure as detailed in Appendix 1. 

7.   As reported in Newsletter No. 1, badminton courts have been reserved on all Tuesdays (from 10:00 am to noon) and Fridays (from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm) at the Disciplined Services Sport and Recreation Club for practising purposes.  Members who are interested please contact Mr Wong Siu-pui John on 9196 8303.  Members may also patronize the Chinese restaurant for luncheon on Tuesdays at 12:30 pm at the above Club premises to meet and socialize with their fellow former colleagues or friends.

IV.  Members¡¦ Privileges

 8.         FISSA will continue to explore into other retail outlets for further discounts to be offered to customers who are members of FISSA to add onto the existing privilege list which have already included Ching Mei/Janfield Records Co. Ltd, Happy Sound Music Ltd and Wines Unlimited.  Will members who have recommendations for the above list please contact any member of the Executive Committee accordingly.

 9.       Appendix 2 sets out the shop address of and the discounts offered by Ching Mei/Janfield Records Co. Ltd and Happy Sound Music Ltd for members ease of reference.  Members will be able to enjoy the said privileges on production of valid FISSA membership cards.
