| My first effort at producing a web page about my pastime of sea fishing and first experiences of DIY boat (mis)/handling... DECEMBER 27th 1999 - I was repairing Christmas lights at the top of my house after strong winds had smashed some bulbs.The ladder shifted and I woke up lying half on the grass and half on the path in the front garden of my house with my Wife Toni leaning over me crying. The ambulance arrived and I was whisked off to hospital.At first they said that I had dislocated my shoulder which they reset, but after an all over Xray they declared that I had broken my left hip bone near to the hip. I was allowed out for the Millenium eve with plenty of Morphine (mmm,yummy) but had to go back in New Years day to prepare for an operation to implant a hip screw. Several weeks later my Wife and I were recouperating at our holiday trailer in Trearddur Bay, Anglesy North Wales (UK). I was always interested in the sea, my Grandmothers family owned a fleet of deep sea fishing trawlers which regularly fished in the waters around Iceland. I spotted a 5 metre pleasure boat for sale on the next camp site, so to cheer me up my Wife said that I should buy it.
