We are pleased to say that Indianapolis Mayor William Hudnut proclaimed March 17, 1988 as John Fish Memorial Day in Indianapolis in recognition of his work in preserving the Naptown Sound... a particular style of music which evolved in Indianapolis.

In addition, John was named a National Treasure by the Taylor-Stafford Memorial Foundation in conjunction with the Indiana Humanities Council as established in the National Treasure Act by the United States Congress as introduced by Rep. John Conyers of Michigan.
