                        Blood Knot - or Barrel Knot

       Use - To join lines of different diameter, as in fly fishing.

  1. Place the two lines parallel to one another with the tag ends facing
     in opposite directions.
  2. Twist the tag end of each line around the main portion of the other.
  3. Run the tag ends in opposite directions through the loop between
     twists.
  4. Wet the knot and pull until tight. Leave about a quarter inch of each
     tag line.
