TOURNAMENT RULES

1. Interpretation of the Tournament Rules shall be left exclusively to the tournament officials. The decision of the tournament officials shall be final in all matters. The tournament officials reserve the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule the tournament if dangerous water conditions exist. 2. Tournament Participation is open to anyone over the age of 16. The legal guardian of any under age participant must sign entry form. 3. Entry Fee must be paid in full and entry form must be completed and postmarked prior to September 25, 2001. Entry fee must be sent to Performance Marine 4780 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001. Starting position will be in the order that the entry form and fee is received. Make check or money order out to the Kincaid Bassmaster's Kids' Tournament. 4. Safe Boating Conduct and all Safety Precautions must be observed at all times. Each contestant must were an U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type life preserver any time the combustion engine is operating. All boats must be equipped with a kill switch, which will be attached to the boat operator anytime the combustion engine is operating. The boat motor must not exceed the U.S. Coast Guard rating plate. All boats must be equipped with a working aerated live well. 6. Sportsmanship. Any person, who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or any federal, state or local laws will be disqualified. No alcoholic beverages or drugs (prescription drugs are allowed) are allowed during official tournament hours. Maximum courtesy, to contestants and non -contestants that are fishing the tournament waters, must be practiced at all times. Any action of a contestant that reflects unfavorably on this tournament shall be cause for disqualification. A contestant may reserve a 50-yard area from his boat by having his anchor down and trolling motor up. Trolling is not allowed. 7. Tackle and Equipment. Only artificial lures may be used. Pork rinds are acceptable baits. Only casting, spinning or spin casting tackle is permitted. No rods over eight feet in length may be used. Only 1 rod and reel may be used at any one time. 8. Staying In Boats. All fishing must be done from the boat that the contestants check in at the pre tournament meeting. The livewell will be checked at the time of check in. All contestants must stay inside the boat; you can not trailer a boat with the sole purpose of changing locations during the tournament hours. Contestants can not exchange or switch boats with out the consent of the tournament officers. 9. Permitted Fishing Locations. The tournament officer will establish the tournament waters at the pre-tournament meeting. 10. Scoring. Tournament standing will be determined by the pound and tenth weight of each boats catch during the tournament hours. Ties will be broken by (1) largest bass, (2) most fish or if need be, (3) a flip of a coin. Only largemouth, spotted (Ky.) or smallmouth bass will be weighed. The limit for each boat shall be eight (8) bass. The prevailing statutes and regulations of the various states that they fish bind all contestants. At no time shall a competitor have in his possession more that the prescribed tournament limit of bass, when one bass above the tournament creel limit is caught; one fish must be culled immediately. All bass will be measured on the Golden Rule. Tournament officials’ measurement is final. No dead fish shall be weighed in. The minimum length of the bass will be twelve (12) Inches. All bass to be weighed-in must be brought to the scale in a plastic bag filled with water. Anyone weighing in a short bass will have that fish culled and be penalized one pound. 11. Late Penalty. Competitors are required to be in the designated check in area at the end of the tournament. Any competitor who is not in this area at check -in will not be allowed to weigh-in. 12. Complaints or protests must be submitted in writing to the tournament officials no later than 30 minutes after the check-in time. 13. None of the above rules shall prohibit a properly designated tournament official from approaching or boarding any competitor boat.
