Ultra Sport 40+
Great Planes is my most favorite airplane company. Though there prices are higher than others, their quality and engineering in both their kits and ARFs are unparralled.

Ultra Sport Build
Use a hot 2 stroke engine installed sideways. I have tried a fourstroke but was not pleased with the outcum. I use a Magnum xls 52. engine with the pitts muffler.; The bright blue head looks good stiking out the side.
I would recomened this as a second plane but not for a first build. It is the most time consuming build I have come across. The tail feathers are stick built but are then sheeted. Very strong and light but alot of time goes into this. The tultle teck is also hard if you havn't done one before. It has a major tapor and the sheeteing comes up to the fery top instead of having a balsa block on the top to shape. I built mine without retracks and am satisfied with it. After flyig it for over a year, i have come to realize that retracts would look very good on this plane. Don't build it with the tricycle landing gear option either. The plane as a taildragger is very controllable when the tail comes of the ground. A great feature about this plane is it uses two pushrods for the elevators. It doesn't requre a ling bar that is hard to get just right, and it only uses one servo for it. It takes alot of potential slop out of the picture. The abs cowling was poorly designed. The joint is on top where the two halves meet and it takes bondo skills and wet sanding to make it look seamless.
