1999:
This year we tried a couple new things in our club. We scheduled 8 club tournaments this year on 4 weekends instead of three, so that members could drop their lowest two tournaments. Unfortunately, that just meant few people showed up for the last tournament. We also had a set-back with our Geneva opens this year, the Abbey limited us to just 25 boats. We contacted many of our regulars and then changed the format to a $500 entry, doubled from $250. This worked out OK, even though we didn't fill either one, but we all seemed to miss our big turnouts that we had been getting. We'll have to look for something new next year. Otherwise things are going strong in the club. We grew up to 18 members this year, and our club took 1st place as an overall team at Zone this year. We had 4 members go on to State: Mike W, Dave G, Bill & Tony! Our Big Brothers kids outing continues to be successful, and this year we had another wonderful full page article in the local newspaper about it. We still have our adopted launch, and have scheduled two members to check on it and clean it each month.

1998:
This year we bought our own tournament trailer which helps in storage and transporting our equipment to opens. We adopted a launch on Silver Lake in Kenosha County, although we haven't done much with it yet. We also changed our points system to give points based on place of finish in each individual tournament, rather then by pounds. Another new thing this year is publishing this web site. We continued our successful Big Brothers outing. Unfortunately, no one from our club made it to State this year :( . Our Open tournaments are all going strong. The Spring Geneva was up to 54 teams!!! We are going to have to limit it to 50 in the future.

1997:
Our secoond Big Brothers event is so large we have to ask members from other area clubs to help out, and we have a great event. All the kids and their big brothers/ sisters had a great time! We sent our usual six man team to zone on the Madison Chain, Jim & Dennis went on to State. Dennis took 3rd place, and every member of the club weighed in fish. We made a journey up to the St. Croix River for a club outing, and many wives went along to visit the Mall of America. The State tournament was held on the Bay of Green Bay, Jim finished in 13th, 1st alternate to the State Team! The three opens tournaments are doing well, with both the spring one's full. This was our final year of Kids Casting contests at the County Fair, it was always so hot and miserable in July.

Club Standings:

1996:
We make our first out of state trip, to Lake Monroe, Indiana to help Jim & Mike pre-fish for Divisionals. What a weekend, terrible weather and extreme flooding, not a lot of fish were caught, but a good bonding experience for the men. Another good finish for Jim at the Mr. Bass tournament, taking 5th place on Lake Mendota. Dave Grosse caught a 6 pounder on Whitewater Lake at a club event! This year was our first fishing outing with the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, and it was a great success! We even got a huge article about it in the local newspaper. The club did well again at zone this year on Pool 10 of the Mississippi, Jim took 4th, Mike W in 6th and both went on to State again. The two also made the week-long trip to Indiana for the B.A.S.S. Northern Divisionals, both did OK. We are also in our second year now of cleaning up trash at public boat launches and parks at our club outings as an environmental project, and we are donating money to River Bend Nature Center in Racine.

1995:
We had such a great response to starting tournaments on Lake Geneva last year, we decided to add a Spring open too, that's up to three successful opens a year! Jim Jones also WON the State Mr. Bass tournament on Big Green Lake this year with a limit weighing over 15 pounds! Our club had a great tournament at zone on the Wolf River, we took the first place team average award with over a six pound average! Jim won the tournament and took big bass, and Mike W took 7th, both qualified for State. Jim and Mike headed up to the Chippewa Flowage for State, and both made the State Team! WOW! This year we also began having our kids casting contest at the Racine County Fair, a miserably hot day!

This year we tried several new things. We tried a paper tournament, but didn't really like it. We sponsored our first Kids Casting Contest at a regional boy scouts event. And we started our first fall open tournament on Lake Geneva, to go along with our spring Browns Lake open. Duane weighed in the first limit in the club's history on Pewaukee, and more were sure to follow with three more limits on Big Green. This year one of our members, Barb, joined the State Federation executive board as secretary.

We are already up to 16 members in the club, and going strong! We sent six members to zone on the Mississippi River, Jim and Mic qualified to go on to State. And then at State, also on the Mississippi, Jim came in 15th, and Mic came in 10th and made the State Team! We did our first youth project this year, a kids clinic on the free fishing day on Browns Lake. Again, we made a trip back to Nokomis, and an interesting pair of twin bass were caught by Mic and Dale R, a 4.84 and a 4.94 lbs, both out of the same boat! Our Browns Lake tournaments are both going strong, the summer tournament is filling capacity.

1991:
A few more members were added to the small club, now up to 10. The club sent their first team to a zone tournament, a miserable weekend on the Madison chain, with very few fish weighed in during the tournament. All it took was one fish to go to state, a new member, Duane was the only in our club to go on. Jim caught a nice 5.55 pounder in the Mr. Bass tournament to take Biggest Bass honors on Lake Puckaway. And this year, we also introduced a fall open on Browns Lake in addition to the summer one.

1990:
The Belle City Bass Anglers was founded by Jim Jones of Racine on February 1, 1990. The concept that created the club was to have all tournaments on weekends, because many of the founding members worked second shift. Several of the founding members had previously belonged to the K-Town Bass Club of Kenosha. In their first year, the club began hosting a summer Browns Lake open bass tournament.
