Kayak Fishing

Kayak fishing is a very good way to fish in Texas esspecialy when you want to get up close to the fish without scaring them away. Kayak fishing is good when you want to get up in very shallow water, so shallow even some shallow water boats cant get in there. You can also get in very narrow places were you definaltly cant get with a boat.

Kayak fishing is becoming very popular in Texas on the coast and in the bays that we have here. Kayaks can also be very good if you are just wanting to explore in coast and witness nature in the happening. There are some clubs in kayak fishing organizations in Texas such as Texas Kayak Fisherman.

There are a few reasons that i have decided to start fishing from a kayak. One reason is you can get up close to the fish and not scare them away, sometimes you even see tailing Redfish. You can also get up close in the shallow areas that baitfish go in were the game fish follow them and fead on them. Kayaks are much cheaper than buying a power boat. You can load about anywere that you want. Kayaks can also be much easier than wade fishing, especialy when in those really muddy areas. Kayaks can be usefull when wantin to get across deep channals, and you can get out and wade fish after crosing the channal.

I suggest that when kayak fishing to use artificial bait rather than live. I have fished with both artificial and live bait on a kayak, I learnded thatfishing with artificial can be much easier than bringing a bait bucket along with you.

There are many kayak brands out ther that are easy to fish with and set up to fish with. I decided to go with the Perception Prism over the other brands out there. I found that it is long enough, very satble, has pleanty of storage room, and you can strap a milk crate on to it to put things suck as a extra rod holder or to cary a bait bucket.

There are many places in ouston especially that you can look into the differnt models to see whats right for you. I got my preception prisms form Ebay, and another one from posting classifieds ads on the internet. I found this to be a better deal if you dont mind a used kayak.
