Trout

The best time to fish the grass flats of the bays is during the spring time. During the heat of the day the best places to fish are the deeper cuts and drop offs, the fish will move out of the shallower parts of bays do to lack of oxygen. After a large rain shower the fish will also move into the depper parts do to freshwater runoff. During the heat of the summer the fish dont like the heat and will mive in to the surf zoneand cuts, which means the best time to be fishing for trout during the summer is early morning and night. During the winter the trout will also go to some deeper parts of the bays, to reach them you will have to bump your bait across the botom. During the winter the fish will also beslower and wont set the hook as easily and will have to use your wrist to set it slowly. Speckled trout ca be caught on artificial and natrual baits.

Redfish are the second most popular fish in Teaxs following trout. The redfish has heavy and harder scale that most othher inshore fish.
