"Baby" you say
You pat my head
"Pretty Girl"
(I'm rolling over)

You pat my head
"Bitch" you say
I'm rolling over
(I asked for it)

"Bitch" you say
You raise your hand
I asked for it
(I'm giving up)

You raise your hand
You pat my head
I'm giving up

The assignment here was to write a sonnet or a pantoum. I chose a pantoum because... well, mostly because I hate sonnets. The lines repeat with the 2nd and 4th lines becoming the 1st and 3rd of the next stanza until the last when it also uses the 1st and 3rd lines of the 1st stanza as the 4th and 2nd. This was originally going to be my political poem but the cyclical form seemed very appropriate.
