the guppy is a hardy fish that can live through many conditions although not recommended. the difference between sexes is quite easily noticed as the females are plain and have a simple coloured tail usually and the males have a very bright and strong coloured tail and also the females become quite fat when pregnant, an excellent community tank fish and very easy to keep for beginners, although the do tend to pick on other fish if in a big group so keep the numbers even for an all out excellent living tank. when the females become pregnant the have what's called a black spot at the back of there body and with time you can see it changing if they are about to have some fry born (baby. young guppies) they take about 25 - 35 days before they will have the babies from when they first become pregnant and can produce up to 70 or more young at the one time.
<--- A breath taking male guppy with its fine new tail thanks to people breeding
to achieve special results and special colours that would not normally be found
in the wild.
