Peyton Randolph

1723- October 22, 1775.

Peyton Randolph was the first official president of the United States of America. He was elected president by the First continental Congress twice, first in 1774 from September 5 to October 21 and then from May 10, 1775 to May, 23 1775. He was considered to be a legal prodigy, his education consisted of studding at the Inner Temple in London, England. He tutored many of America�s founders at William and Mary College, including Patrick Henry.

Before serving as the first president of America he was the King�s Attorney of Virginia. His house can still be seen in Colonial Williamsburg. He was also a cousin of Thomas Jefferson. 1
