Baja

Our trip down the coast of Baja in January, 2001, was cold. At times there was plenty of wind, and rough seas, but other times we saw little wind. Since we had already cruised this coast, we wanted to get south as soon as possible. After brief stops in Isla San Martin, Turtle Bay and Bahia Santa Maria, we sailed into warmer weather and could peel off a layer or two of clothing. It was hot by the time we reached Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of Baja California. Cabo is not our favorite place. The anchorage can be rolly and slips are very expensive, so after a few days, we set sail for Punta Mita, near Puerto Vallarta, on the mainland.
