WHITE HART 7 FIRST INN 3
First went down 7-3 at Goldsborough, despite initially holding a 2 goal lead over a strong White Hart side.
First welcomed back full-back Mick Bagshaw and Dan Locker started in net. Dean Abbott returned to the five man midfield, but missing was striker Jeff Morrison and midfielder Darren Wright. Player-manager James Howard played as the lone striker with Andy Wardill starting on the right.

White Hart started strongly but it was the visitors who opened the scoring against the run of play after 20 minutes. Some good build up play released Howard who slotted home clinically from close range. Less than ten minutes later and it was 2-0 in similar circumstances. Another quick break released Mike Headlam who chipped Cummins expertly from 20 yards to double his side's lead.

A tremendous double save from Dan Locker denied Hart as they came back at the visitors. First were not helped by Bagshaw having to limp off with a pulled muscle, Anth Hunter was his replacement.

The hosts pressure finally paid off as they quickly levelled the scores in a two minute blast before the break.

The second half saw White Hart race into a 4-2 lead after some pretty ordinary defending from the visitors. But it seemed First were right back in the game when Dean Abbott finished off a neat passing move on the edge of the White Hart six yard box to make it 4-3.

Unfortunately First tired towards the end and the home side rattled in three more goals and to be fair, but for poor finishing and some fine saves from Locker, could have easily made double figures.

Locker, Trott, Usher, Jackson, Thomas, Owen, Bagshaw(Hunter), A Wardill(Green), Howard, Abbott(Webster), M Headlam. Subs not used: Snaith, C Headlam, Grisedale, L Wardill.
