FISHERLADS 13 FIRST INN 0
First knew this would be a tough task against possibly the strongest team in the league. They weren't helped by the absence of winger Mike Headlam, and Paul Owen as well as the late arrival of midfielder Dean Abbott. Dave Webster started alongside Jeff Morrison in attack. With Mark Jackson returning to the side to replace Morrison at the back.

Despite these setbacks, First made a purposeful and determined start. They kept the scores level for over 20 minutes before the deadlock was broken. Keeper Dan Locker struggled all afternoon with a hand injury, having to use his feet instead on most occasions.

Morrison was having a good game and was unlucky not to level matters when he burst past two defenders on the edge of the Fisherlads box but his low curling shot was pushed round the post by the keeper.

Fisherlads then hit back with three quick goals before the break, to make it 5-0 at half-time, which slightly flattered the home side.

Unfortunately, Morrison went off in the interval with Abbott his replacement, Howard moved into attack. Unfortunately, Fisherlads continued to find the net and despite creating chances at the other end, Howard was guilty of some disappointing finishing.

In the end, the superior fitness of Teesside League players such as Gareth Reed, Emilio Roldan and Dominic Gamble made all the difference and the rampant Rowing Club outfit smashed home double figures as a late goal glut made it 13-0 at the final whistle.

Locker, Trott(C Headlam), Usher, Thomas(Hunter), Jackson, Steele, Webster, Howard, Tose, Wright, Morrison(Abbott).
