Discipline Procedures
Discipline in the classroom makes for a more pleasant, cooperative, and smoother running day.  I try not to have too many rules, and the main rules are very general.  They are:

                                   1. Listen carefully.

                                   2. Follow directions.

                                   3. Work quietly. Do not disturb
                                             others who are working.

                                   4. Respect others. Be kind with
                                              your words and actions.

                                   5. Respect school and personal property.

                                   6. Work and play safely.

Of course, there are more specific rules for the individual centers, and just the way we do things such as lining up, passing in papers, and other transitions.  These rules help us get the most out of our day.

When action needs to be taken, a warning will be given and the child will put his or her pencil (a cut out with their name) up on the board. The second time a check will be placed by his or her pencil.
The third time means a phone call home, and the fourth time means a trip to the principal's office. (Thankfully, that doesn't happen very often!)

In your child's agenda each day, you will find a green, yellow, or red dot to let you know about your child's behavior.  Homework and anouncements, and comments are also written here. Please initial these daily, and feel free to use this space to communicate with me as well.
