First Connections is a Parent Education Program for parents and their children. Songs, guest speakers, storytelling, mini lessons, field trips and crafts are planned to provide an opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children.
A child's learning style and interests are formed during the first years of his/her life. Parents are the models for skills such as language development, pre-school readiness, positive discipline, and social interaction skills. Parents have the primary responsibility for providing the at-home experience that will determine their child's success in Kindergarten and first grade. Come participate with First Connections!
First Connections is sponsored by the Family Resource Centers of Meadow View, Woodland, and Parkway Elementary Schools.
Three classes taught by Parent Educator, Brenda Weatherington, are available for different age groups. Please click here to find out more.
