1) Book Faramir had NO interest in the ring. Sam accidentaly tells him about the ring. Faramir then says to tell him no more and that he does not even want to see it.
2)Book Faramir comes right out and says that were the ring lying on the road he would not pick it up. He does not want the ring.
3) Book Faramir was not holding Frodo and Sam captive. He gave them shelter for as long as they needed it but were free to go whenever they pleased. He even gave them food and drink for their journey.
4) Poor Faramir was always second best. His father expressed MANY times his favoratism for Boromir. He even said he wished Faramir had died instead. Not only this but the poor guy only got Eowyn because Aragorn did not want her.
5)Faramir is the most noble and romantic guy ever. The Return of the King book is full of heart felt and utterly romantic speeches that Faramir gives to Eowyn.
