In order to fulfill our vision to L.O.V.E. our mission will be to pray, plan and work for measurable results in the following key areas:
LOVE GOD: We will love God in passionate devotion to Jesus: shaped by the Word and expressed through inspiring worship and fervent prayer.
We will diligently grow in our passion for God pursuing Jesus as our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King and living the Spirit-filled life. We will express this in our prayer life, our use of the Word as "our only rule of faith and practice", and a tireless commitment to inspiring worship.
LOVE PEOPLE: We will be a family committed to forgiveness, unity and joyful loving relationships that overflow in a compassionate Gospel witness to all.
"This is the message... We should love one another... let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth... (I John 3:11, 18) People need to see God's love! When we love each other we live in God and he lives in us (I John 3:24), and He will touch the world through us: Relationships committed to forgiveness, unity, joy and compassion will keep us from cold love (Matthew 24: 12) and allow us to be effective gospel witnesses.
LOVE SERVING: We will be people who love serving as we're prepared and released to pursue our gift oriented ministry through empowering servant-leadership.
"There are different kinds of gifts... but God works in all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good... (I Corinthians 12: 4, 7)... to each of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it... it was he who gave (the various leadership offices) to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ would be built up (Ephesians 4: 7, 11, 12). When our commitment is to be a servant -- for the common good, we can properly use and discover God's power in the form of spiritual gifts. We will develop attitudes and awareness that release the Spirit's power in all of us. Leadership's primary funcion will be to assist and coordinate God's work in and through all of us.
LOVE CHURCH: We will enhance the love of the church by developing relevant corporate structures, team ministry and small groups that equip us to fulfill our mission.
Church exists to achieve God's disciple-making purposes in our lives. Church is team, small groups and large assembly (Matthew 18:
19, 20; Acts 5: 42). To be relevant and fruitful, what we do must work! Our mission is constant, but how we accomplish it changes. (I Corinthians 9: 19-27; Matthew 9: 17) We will prayerfully and faithfully improve, strengthen, bless or change every structure or system in order to press on toward the goal of our call (Philippians 3: 7-16). Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess... let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up on meeting together... but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10 23-25)
