Looking, there is the viewer,
who imagines they are at the center where they exist.
The view is their own. The view is seen through the eyes of the viewer, with all that the viewer already knows.
Nothing is seen new, as it really is, living.
Looking at photographs we can only see the staid existence of the viewer.
Even this informed view changes nothing.
We are all viewers. None of us see living.
What is the original view, where there is no viewer?

Look at the photographs, not as a viewer, but as a view.

Looking at the photos as I normally do, I see what interests me. We will see what interests us. What the photographer did or did not intend is not important. In fact there is as much in the photo just as you see it, as anyone else sees it. Also, the photographer simply took the photo without any more possibility of seeing it other than as a viewer, like any one else. This is what makes photos boring and uninteresting. So look at the photos to see not what the viewer sees, but what is in the photo. Accept what the photos actually show and then you see what was the original, unmediated, view. And it will always be for the first time, afresh. Fire bucket, Gifu, Japan
