Introduction

This will allow you to play back MP3s on the Dreamcast. No playback controls, but the (A) button seems to jump to the nearest track beginning - that is, if the current track is less than half way though it jumps back to the start, after half way it jumps to the next track. Track list is displayed down the left hand side of the screen.

Playback quality is excellent, I stuck a 70's compilation on disk, nice background tunes while I write up some more tutorials. Hey Strat76, how about some nice visuals for the next release??

Creating the Disk

Extract the files in the zip to a folder on the hard drive (e.g. C:\DCmp3\)
Create a new folder within the DCmp3 folder called MP3\
Now copy all your MP3s to the folder C:\DCmp3\MP3\

OK that's the file structure taken care of, now to burn it:

Load all the files and folders in the C:\DCmp3\ folder into a data CD project on your burning software.
Set the disk type to:
Mode1
Level2
Joliet File System
Exactly how you achieve these settings will depend on the burning software,
any CD creation software will be capable of doing this.

OK, once you've burned the disk, load up the Utopia boot disk and switch to the MP3 disk.
