Salvation Army Secret Santa Project
For the past four years the Senior youth and Junior Youth have each sponsored a local needy family's Christmas. I think this is one of the most special projects that we do all year long. Brightening the Holidays for families that are less fortunate then yourself, is the best Christmas present someone can give during the Christmas Season. Each year we receive information on our family, then the youth go shopping and buy toys, clothes and school suplies for the children and even some gifts for the parents too. We also invite the mother to a shopping trip at our local grocery store so that she can make a hearty Christmas dinner. The youth then spend an afternoon wrapping all the presents and right before Christmas we load everything up in the church van and Santa makes a delivery! I think the youth really get a feeling for what Christmas is all about when they see those excited little faces tearing through the wrapping paper and hear the shreiks of joy when that special gift they were hoping for is inside the box.

Anthony "Bubba" Lawing makes a pretty convincing Santa!
